Original Item. Only One Available. This is a scarce set of ARMOR, VEST, NYLON T-52-1 dating to the 1950’s, likely an experimental example as there is very little reference to this set. The Army was experimenting with different materials across the vest, resulting in the T-52, T-52-1, T-52-2, and T-52-3. This set, the T-52-1, saw field testing in Korea in mid-1952. The set is marked Size Medium.
The stamping inside the vest reads:
MEDIUM
ARMOR, VEST, NYLON
T-52-1
CONTRACT NO.
DA-44-109-QM 841
NO. 1488
We haven’t been able to find a similar example, so this was likely a test of the different materials and snap-variation. The snaps on this vest are the same as would be on a canteen of the period. The exterior is made of nylon with two pockets on the front. The vest is in great shape overall and would fit perfectly in any Korean War collection. Comes ready for further research and display!
